This project was a massive multi-story apartment complex pigeon holed into downtown producing an upscale downtown masterpiece of blended materials including split face, sills, 2 colors of brick and pavers.
The goal to create high end, premium amenity, close-in walk to work living relied on a blend of masonry colors and textures that will attract the most discriminating clients. The white CMU split face sparkles with a marble dust aggregate that literally shines in the sun. To break up the mass, the architects articulated the facades, blending two colors of brick with a colored mortar above the split face masonry base. The brick were laid in alternating panels of color to add interest to the exterior. Combining a brick paver and concrete paver exterior walkway completed the project and gave downtown Orlando another landmark project of which the city will be proud. |
