This project consists of three custom masonry interior fireplaces, one outside fireplace. The three masonry fireplaces on the inside we lined with regular firebrick until the interior decorator came up with ideas for brick material and pattern. The brick are 12 inches long and mitered 45 degrees on both ends to get the look of a full-length brick and still get our pattern. All four are hand-built. Outside loggia brick herringbone flooring. Outside veneer custom decorative pattern and highlights on loggia. When installing the brick header, we installed angle iron suspended with brackets into the angle iron up to existing concrete tie beam. Also, we notched existing block work to also support steel lintels. We put wood forms underneath steel lintels to support the brick until they were dry. We also notched the brick and laid it over metal angle irons to support the brickwork. On the outside loggia, we also installed stainless steel angle iron and notched the brick over the angle iron to support the decorative weave pattern. The project also included the sandstone slab treads, hearth stones, planter caps, entry stones to the loggia.
