Methodist Church BelltowerThis project challenged the architect and the brick supplier to come up with brick to match an historic church in downtown Gainesville, constructed sometime early 1900’s.
The church wanted to recreate the tower that graced the original sanctuary with a slightly updated architectural aesthetic. They selected a local architect with a passion for restoration. When you review the photos, you will note the original brick transit ions to the new “molded” brick almost seamlessly. To the casual observer, the tower could be the original were it not for the updated detailing at the top of the belltower. The architect reviewed numerous samples and settled on a 3 brick blend of wood mold brick that captured the essence of the original nearly perfect. The church delighted in the “restored” tower and now retain a piece of church history that had been temporarily lost.
