Schenkel Shultz Architecture, Orlando, won two First Place Awards at the Florida Educational Facilities Planners’ Association’s 2015 Architectural Showcase held February 4-6 at the Omni Amelia Island Resort. Schenkel Shultz took top honors for outstanding design of the School Board of Sarasota County’s $78.1 million Venice High School Rebuild in the High School Category, and Daytona State College’s $6.1 million Palm Coast Campus Building 3 in the College Category. Daytona State College’s newest 21st century classroom building on the Palm Coast campus achieved Level 1 Green Globes Certification and totals 24,865 square feet. In addition to a variety of classrooms, the facility includes a collaborative lecture hall, a student café, bookstore, informal social zones, and collaborative areas.
