Smith Residence

This project is an outdoor fireplace, complete CMU with stone veneer.  The stone is a thin veneer from the NSVI Quarry “Potomac.”  There is approx. 250 sqft of stone.  The hearth and the caps are Pennsylvania Blue stone.  The supports for the raincaps are Alabama Stackstone, as well as the supports for the Blue Stone ledge for the pizza oven.    The pizza oven is to the right of the masonry firebox.  The homeowner asked that we “round the edges” of the hearth instead of square.  The stone, in the plans, was to be laid with mortar joints, hoever, the homeowner requested a “stacked” stone look.
